Thantaos is the Greek god of death. His counterpart in dualism is Eros, also known as Cupid in Roman mythology. In Greek texts, theta nigrum is used as a symbol of death, and in perfume it is used as a logo.
Even the wrapper is designed to give the viewer an uneasy feeling. The cylindrical packaging is permeated with rust. This stands for standstill, which Thanatos expresses in philosophy.
Opening the package, one immediately catches sight of the rough, bony structures and in contrast, the smoothly polished surface of the upper part, which is smooth and organic in design. Getting it out, you immediately notice the blood red colored liquid behind rib-like appendages.
The entire bottle is not designed cutely small, but massive massive. It triggers discomfort in the hand, the swirls at the back pressing into the palm.
If the user now wants to spray to escape this feeling, it does not succeed. The decisive step is missing:
The neck break
Even the thought of it evokes an unpleasant sensation.
The grip recess is asymmetrical. The upper part is broken by reaching into the hollow. To do this, pressure must be applied with both hands. The mechanism releases the spray button with a loud crack and haptic feedback. From one second to the next, everything is over - the death that can come over everyone so quickly and is symbolized in this movement now seems even clearer and inspires reflection.
Almost hidden on the back, the spray button can now be pressed and the perfume comes out.
The smell is that of the sea, the force of nature that cannot be controlled by anything; for many a threat, associated with thoughts of mortal danger. In the aftermath comes the scent of lavender, a flower traditionally placed with the dead to drown out decomposition odors.
